CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING Written confirmation and deposit of £1,000 for venue hire is required within 14 days of the original verbal booking, along with the completed booking form. Should this not be forthcoming, Rudds shall be entitled to treat the provisional verbal booking as cancelled. An additional deposit of £1,000 is also required to secure the bedrooms and guest accommodation (please see below Payment Terms: Guest Accommodation).
VENUE HIRE - PAYMENT TERMS The total venue hire fee is £4,000 (plus VAT). A deposit of £1,000 is required to secure the venue hire and the balance is to be paid to Rudds in full at least 3 months prior to the event, unless other terms have been agreed. Please note that any costs for Registrars/church services should be organised, and paid for direct to the Dorset Registration Service.
GUEST ACCOMMODATION Reservations for venue hire are taken on the condition that the client/wedding party will also book all accommodation on site for the duration of the event. We accept a minimum of two-night reservations on the weekends, and three-night reservations over a bank holiday weekend. This can be either Friday and Saturday nights or Saturday and Sunday. All rooms have to be taken by the wedding party and can be paid for by the bridal party or individually by your guests. Any rooms that are not taken, or that are not paid for, will be paid for by the bridal party.
HIRE TIMES Typically, venue hire is from the Friday at 3pm to the Sunday at 11am. Music and dancing (loud noise) must be finished by midnight or at the time agreed when booking. Non-residents have to vacate the site by 12.30am. Although we try and be very flexible, extensions of time may not be possible due to our location and out of respect to local residents. Please check the times in your written booking confirmation.
CANCELLATIONS In the sad event that you should need to cancel your booking, unfortunately, we are unable to refund any monies paid. Deposits are non-refundable at any time. Many companies now offer event/wedding insurance and you may like to consider this as a back-up plan.
If we are not preparing the food for you, we ask that you use our recommended caterers (Rabbit & Rose or Hello
Rodeo) and marquee supplier (Camelot). They understand the intricacies of this beautiful venue and can advise
on prices, options and logistics for your special day. Otherwise, you may work with whichever suppliers you prefer -
although we can point you in the direction of some of some superb local suppliers.
You are free to bring your own wine and champagne for your event, or we can supply the drinks for you.
Rudds charges a small corkage charge of £7 for wine, £10 for champagne. The evening bar (pay-bar or pre-paid
by you) must be provided by Rudds unless other arrangements are confirmed with the venue. Please speak to
the team about the options available and to discuss corkage costs on other types of alcohol.
Please note that guests and residents may not consume alcohol on the premises, at any time during the
venue hire, unless it has been bought from Rudds direct, or by prior agreement with the venue team. Any
alcohol consumed without being purchased from Rudds, or by prior agreement from elsewhere, will be
confiscated and those involved asked to leave the venue.
